Magnification selection of telecentric lens

This time, we would like to introduce the solutions from our sales staff to the problems and issues that our customers receive every day. The theme of this time is "Selection of Magnification of Telecentric Lens".

Among customers who select a telecentric lens, there are cases where the magnification to be used is the first consideration. The other day, I received an inquiry from a customer that there was no standard product with the desired magnification. Here are the rough specs the customer wants:

  • 1. The sensor size of the camera used is 1/1.8″.
  • 2. I want a magnification of 0.1 to 0.15 times.
  • 3. WD is somewhat flexible.

It is true that we do not have a standard product that satisfies this requirement.

However, if you focus on the "front lens with an effective diameter larger than the subject," which is an essential requirement for a telecentric lens, your options will expand.

In other words, is there a standard product with an effective diameter larger than the desired field of view?

Many of the specifications in the catalog are specifications introduced at the time of design.

If the image size of the camera actually used is smaller than the design value, it is possible to lower the specified magnification. Taking this customer as an example, our standard product "MPHC-03M-150By partially remodeling ", it is possible to satisfy the magnification of 0.1 to 0.15 times.

The MPHC-150 series is designed for large image sizes. When using only an image size smaller than the target image size, it is possible to lower the design magnification of 0.3 times. You can also use the advantage of "the center of the lens has high performance".

If the catalog specification maximum field of view is larger than your desired field of view, you may be able to use this "magnification reduction". If you do not find the desired magnification in our standard products, please feel free to contact us.
