About Floating Lens Element Design
Standard lens design would have the lens groups move in sync with respect to each other when making a focus on or changing the magnification of the object, very often resulting in optical spec. aberration. In the case of floating lens element design, the optical aberration is minimized with the lens groups moving independent of each other when focusing or changing object magnifications.
